About the School:

In 2015, the Tulalip Tribe opened the doors to the Betty J. Taylor Early Learning Center overlooking scenic Tulalip Bay. This unique, year-round school combines previously dislocated early learning centers including Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program, a day care, Montessori school, and Early Head Start. By partnering with Solar4RSchools, the tribe was able to forward their goals of creating a healthy, sustainable community, which engages student’s natural curiosity, and inspires community members, all through culturally relevant lessons.

Support was garnered from the Tulalip Casino, Marysville School District, Central Washington University’s Institute for Integrated Studies, and Snohomish Public Utility District. In addition to supplying clean electricity, the installation is also a valuable teaching tool thanks to the Solar 4R Schools program. Energy monitoring provided by the Solar 4R Schools program made the live performance data from their PV system available for educational purposes.
